Tiny Toadstool
We found these tiny, translucent toadstools growing on leaf litter near the river Tees at Eggleston a couple of days ago - and I'm still struggling to identify them. Could be the leaf parachute Merasmius epiphyllus ...... but then again, maybe not....
Still, it's a beautiful little toadstool, only about 3cm. tall.

I have never seen these. They are wonderful but I can't ID them.
ReplyDeleteI've seen those here (US - NY and MI), too - or something very similar. They can be quite small, and do look like little parasols.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll need to consult iSpot Adrian....
ReplyDeleteCould easily be the same Ellen - the US and Europe do have a lot of fungi in common - I guess those spores can travel just about everywhere!
