My favourite birdsong. Blackbird singing outside my window as I type. There should have been a Blackbird in Berkley Square. A wonderful sound, especially on a spring evening, and at last we have an evening which actually feels like spring! So far this year there has been a distinct lack of not only Blackbird song, but birdsong in general. Cheers.
Mine to Brian - it's the sound of the suburbs on warm spring evenings, bouncing off the houses. There are half a dozen very aggressive male blackbirds along our row of back gardens, chasing each other all day long, but around about teatime they do all their duelling in song and turn the volume up to 11........
The sound of England.....and "mine" seem more jubilant than usual this Spring, waking me early with such beautiful songs....I think they are rejoicing as much as us at the passing of the freeze.
