Some natural wonders from North East England
What a great find. This one looks to be left hand threaded and not right hand like other snails. I don't suppose that snails are threaded but I can't think of another word.
I think it's the first sinistral snail I've ever found, Adrian!
I have never seen such a long shell. Very different from that which we usually see.

The African snails which surface occasionally in my garden seem to be a great delicacy for the Greater Coucal.The bird never damages the shell.
Now that is a really impressive snail, lotusleaf - nothing that large here!
