Thursday's Guardian Country Diary is all about this flock of long-tailed tits, that suddenly appeared around me on a very cold winter afternoon - and brightened up my day.
Got to be my favourite bird, they make me think of noisy giggly school girls piling out of the school gates, such chatter. Just spent a chilly hour, putting up a owl box, I know we are a bit late, but it was the best we could do.
That's exactly what comes to mind when I hear them! Hope you get a tenant for your owl box. We sometimes get tawnies hunting across out row of back gardens - love to hear their hunting calls.
They are always a welcome sight.
ReplyDeleteAlways pleased to see them in the garden
DeleteSuch delightful little things!
ReplyDeleteHave a good year Phil.
Best wishes for 2015 to you too, Toffeepple!
