Hope Scar used to be a good spot for watching raptors and I once had some wonderful views of a short-eared owl quartering the ground at the base of the cliff. Last time I was there the spruces were full of crossbills and we watched them working the cones in the crowns of the trees as we sat on the edge of the cliff. Still, as you say, it could become a great spot for nightjars...........
